Dive Rite Wings for Divers
Product description
This recall involves the following models of Dive Rite Wings: Travel, Venture, Rec, Trek, Classic, Nomad, and Super Wings. The recalled Wings are buoyancy control devices that come in red, blue, or black, and have an opaque white or blue-tinted bladder and welded-in flanges. They have a serial number between 42000 and 72000, which can be found on a white tag attached along a seam of the Wing.
Wings that have a black bladder are not included in this recall.
Hazard identified
The over pressure valve springs in the diving equipment could rust and fail, causing the wings to leak and posing a drowning hazard to divers.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.
Number sold
Approximately 300 of the recalled products were sold at diving equipment retailers in Canada. In addition, consumers may have purchased the product online.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from 2006 to 2008.
Place of origin
Manufactured in the United States.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to the point of purchase for a free replacement of the overpressure valve spring.
