Dell Hybrid Adapters sold with power bank

Product description

This recall involves Dell brand Hybrid Adapters with model number LA45NM170, sold in combination with a power bank. The power banks are not included in the recall.

The affected Hybrid Adapters can be identified by a unique piece part ID (PPID) on the label beginning with "CN - 05G53P - LOC00 – XXX – XXXX - AXX" located on the lower right of the label.

Hazard identified

The Hybrid Adapter casing can break and detach, exposing internal components, posing a risk of electric shock.

As of December 3, 2018 the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 475 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from February 2017 to August 2018.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected Hybrid Adapter and contact Dell Inc. for a replacement adapter.
