DayNa Decker Botanika Candles

Product description

This recall involves candles sold under the DayNa Decker "Botanika" brand. The candles come in 3, 6, and 16 ounce green glass vessels. Recalled candles have batch code 9J3, 9K1, 9L1, or 9L2, which can be found on the bottom of the glass vessel.

Candles with any other batch code are not included in this recall.

The words "DayNa Decker" and "Bakara", "Bardou", "Clementine", "Indigo", "Leila", "Manzanita", "Sierra", "Taiga", "Violetta", "Viva", "Yasmin" or "Zelia" appear on the bottom of the glass vessel as well.

Hazard identified

The candle may exhibit an irregular flame and the glass can break during use, posing a fire and laceration hazard to users.

Lumetique has received 6 reports of irregular flames and 5 reports of glass breaking during use, with no reported property damage or injuries. The reports concerned candles used continuously for hours.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these candles.

Number sold

Approximately 230 of the recalled candles were sold at various retail stores in Canada, and approximately 3,130 of the recalled candles were sold in the United States.

An additional 3,000 were made but not distributed to retailers or consumers.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from November 2009 to January 2010.

Place of origin

Manufactured in the United States.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and contact Lumetique to receive a full credit toward the purchase of another DayNa Decker product.
