Product description

This voluntary recall involves certain Curt Manufacturing Forged Ball and Pintle Hitches with part numbers 48190 and 48200 and UPC 612314519002 and 612314520015, respectively. The hitch has a gloss black powder coat finish.

Hazard identified

The pivot hole is out of position, which can limit the locking jaw engagement. This may allow the upper jaw to unlatch and a towed vehicle to separate, resulting in the risk of a crash.

As of June 21, 2021, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Number sold

The company reported that 912 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from November 2019 to July 2020.
