Product description
This recall involves Le Creuset® glass lids sold for use with Forged Hard-Anodized fry pans. The clear glass lids measure between 24 centimetres (9 inches) and 30 centimetres (12 inches), and have the words "Le Creuset" stamped on the metal handles. The affected models are as follows:
- HA 4000-28: 28 centimetres Glass Lid.; UPC 630870033947; Reference number 962008280
- HA 4000-30: 30 centimetres Glass Lid.; UPC 630870033954; Reference number 962008300
- HA 8100-30: 30 centimetres Shallow Casserole with Lid set; UPC 630870041959; Reference Number 96200230000400
Hazard identified
The glass lids can crack or break during use, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.
Le Creuset® of America Inc. has received five reports of lids breaking in use. However, no injuries have been reported.
Neither Health Canada nor Le Creuset® Canada Inc. has received any reports of injuries in Canada related to the use of these glass lids.
Number sold
Approximately 93 of the affected glass lids were sold at Le Creuset authorized dealers in Canada.
Time period sold
The affected glass lids were sold from September 2010 to November 2010.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
