Copco Harmony Tea Kettles
Product description
This recall involves tea kettles sold under the name "Harmony" by Copco. The kettles come in stainless steel (brushed and polished finishes) and enamel finishes (red, white, black, turquoise, orange, yellow, or blue).
Copco tea kettles in other styles are not included in this recall.
Hazard identified
The lid on the tea kettle may come loose during handling, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
The firm is aware of 25 incidents of the lid coming loose in the United States. Second-degree burns to hands and fingers have been reported.
Health Canada and Wilton Industries have not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these kettles.
Number sold
Approximately 5,500 units were sold across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from March 2006 to June 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China and Thailand.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tea kettles. If the consumer has a stainless steel kettle, contact Wilton Industries Canada for a free replacement lid. If the consumer has an enamel tea kettle, contact Wilton Industries Canada for a free replacement kettle or a refund.
Do not return kettle or lid to the store where purchased.
