Product description
This voluntary recall involves Sproam® No-Rinse Body Wash, Shampoo & Incontinent Cleanser, sold in 175 mL bottles.
The recalled product has model/catalogue number 0897, product number 6089711404, and is limited to lot # 5394728.
The affected product is used for institutional use, such as acute care, home care and long term care by caregivers. Some end-users may be chronically ill persons.
Hazard identified
The recalled cosmetic contains the bacteria Achromobacter aegrifacienes/insuavis.
This bacteria can pose a risk to people who have certain health problems, such as cystic fibrosis, haematological and solid organ malignancies, renal failure and compromised immune systems. Possible adverse effects can include pneumonia, bacteremia, urinary tract infections, and skin/soft tissue infections.
As of April 25, 2017, the company has received no reports of consumer incidents or injuries in Canada from the use of this product.

Approximately 18,564 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold between December 2016 and January 2017.
