Product description

This recall involves an electronic power assist system designed to be installed on bicycles. The system is comprised of three main components: a battery, an electric motor, and a controller.

There are two models available:
Model Controller
24V/250W KT24WSH-BF08
36V/350W Kt36WSH-BFZ13504

Hazard identified

Water can enter the controller and cause it to accelerate unexpectedly posing a crash and injury hazard to the rider.

As of August 14, 2018 the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injury.

Number sold

Approximately 114 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from January 2017 to June 2018.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the electronic power assist system and contact the company for a free replacement motor controller circuit board.
