Product description
This recall involves various Chromag bicycle stems with a 'Z' marked inside the bolt head. The bicycle stems come in various colours including black, red, blue, gold, purple and silver. Note that bolts marked with a 'T', 'Y' or 'C' inside the bolt head do not require replacement.

Hazard identified
Bolts with a 'Z' marked inside the bolt head used on certain bicycle stems may be prone to premature breaking when tightened, causing a fall and injury hazard.
As of March 23, 2017, the company has received four reports of premature breakage in Canada, and no reports of injuries.

Approximately 20 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from December 2016 to March 2017.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the affected bikes and contact their nearest Chromag dealer for replacement clamping bolts.
