Product description
This recall includes Chillafish BMXie, Chillafish Jack and Chillafish Josie balance bikes. The bikes were designed for children ages 2 to 5 and have no pedals and no chains.
The BMXie plastic bike frames are approximately 31.5 inches (80 centimetres) long with a seat that can be adjusted from approximately 12.5 inches (31.75 centimetres) high to approximately 15.5 inches (39 centimetres) high and have a detachable foot support.
Jack and Josie steel bike frames are approximately 34 inches (86 centimetres) long with a seat that can be adjusted from approximately 14 inches (35.6 centimetres) high to approximately 17 inches (43 centimetres) high.

Hazard identified
Overinflated tires can cause the wheel rims to crack and expel pieces of the flying plastic rim, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.
Neither Health Canada nor Chillafish has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these bicycles.
In the United States, Chillafish has received 19 reports of plastic separating from the rims, including two reports of consumers being cut by flying plastic when pieces of the plastic rim were expelled.
Number sold
Approximately 268 of the recalled bikes were sold online in Canada by Northwest Synergy Inc. through Amazon.ca. Approximately 29,000 of the recalled bikes were sold in the United States through various retailers.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from November 2013 through November 2015.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop children from using the recalled bikes until the tires are deflated to a pressure at or below 32 psi, and contact Chillafish for a free replacement kit. Chillafish is contacting consumers directly.
