Product description
This recall involves 100% cotton baby sleepers sold under the brand name "Chikitoe". The sleepers are long-sleeved, have feet, and have snap buttons down the front. They come in a variety of colours and styles.
The recalled sleepers can be identified by item number 19-3008949 and CA 42026, which can be found on a label attached to the inside of the sleeper.
Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled sleepers do not meet the design and flammability requirements for children's sleepwear under Canadian law.
Children's sleepwear that is loose fitting or that has loose edges can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more easily than tight-fitting sleepwear. Once ignited, the sleepwear can burn rapidly and cause severe burns to large areas of the child's body, resulting in shock and sometimes death.
Neither Health Canada nor Princess Madison Fashion has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these sleepers.

Number sold
Approximately 50,930 of the recalled sleepers were imported by Princess Madison Fashion and sold at Dollarama stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 2010 to March 2011.
