Product description
This recall involves 30.5 centimetres (12 inches) ceiling mount lighting fixtures identified by model numbers 7000 and 41712.
Hazard identified
The extreme high temperature in this lighting fixture may damage the electric wire lead insulation posing fire hazard.
The affected lighting fixtures have been recalled in the United States and are certified to Canadian Standards by Underwriters' Laboratories (UL) and labeled with a Canadian certification mark, which means they can potentially be available in Canada as well.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these lighting fixtures.
Number sold
There were no affected lighting fixtures distributed in Canada by the company. However, as the lights are approved for sale in Canada, there may be some present in the Canadian marketplace through other channels.
Approximately 1,146 affected lighting fixtures were sold in the United States by HD Supply and other online stores.
Time period sold
The time period during which the recalled affected lighting fixtures were sold is unknown.
