Product description
This recall involves the Carter's®-branded "Hug N' Tug Monkey"(model 61083).
This toy is intended to attach to an infant's stroller or car seat using the plastic ring connector on the toy's head and have arms and legs that can be easily pulled back and forth for activity play. The toy is approximately 30.5 centimetres (12 inches) tall and is made of multi-coloured fabrics. The toy's body is a clear plastic sphere containing rattle beads and has the face of a monkey.
Hazard identified
The beads inside the clear plastic sphere at the center of the toy can be released and pose a choking hazard to young children.
In the United States, Sassy Inc. as received 12 reports of beads being released from Sassy®-branded models. There have been no such reports on Carter's®-branded models. No injuries have been reported.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Number sold
Approximately 726 units of the recalled Carter's® branded toy were have been sold in Canada.
Approximately 45,300 units of the Sassy® and Carter's® branded toys were sold in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from June 2012 to October 2012 in Canada and from August 2011 to October 2012 in the United States.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
