Product description
This recall involves Capilo Egg and Olive Oil Shampoo and Capilo Honey and Milk Shampoo. The shampoos are packaged in 8 oz. and 16 oz. plastic bottles.
Hazard identified
The recalled shampoos contain a combination of methylisothiazolinone and methylchloroisothiazolinone (MI/MCI) as a preservative at a concentration exceeding the current limit set out by Health Canada. The combination of MI/MCI is a strong sensitizer which may pose a significant risk of inducing allergic reactions and skin irritation.
Neither Canamex Inc. nor Health Canada have received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 72 units of the recalled cosmetic products were sold in various salons in Quebec.
Time period sold
The recalled cosmetics were sold from January to October 2015.
Place of origin
Product manufactured in the Dominican Republic.
