Product description
This recall involves rear-mounted bicycle racks that are used for hitching children’s trailercycles to adult-sized bicycles. The aluminum racks were sold individually, in black or silver, and packaged with Piccolo and Kazoo trailercycles beginning in November 2011.

Hazard identified
The top portion of the Tailwind Rack that contains the features for connecting the Piccolo and Kazoo trailer cycle hitches to the towing bicycle may break away from the lower portion of the rack. The breakage can pose a risk of injury to the riding child or the rider of the towing bicycle.
Burley Design has received 11 reports of Tailwind racks breaking, which includes one report of a broken leg. No incidents or injuries have been reported in Canada.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these bicycle racks.
Number sold
Approximately 17 units of the recalled product were sold across Canada and approximately 4,150 in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from November 2011 through September 2013 in Canada and the United States.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

What you should do
Consumers should stop using the affected bicycle rack immediately. Burley Design will replace your recalled Tailwind Rack with a steel Moose Rack.
