Product description
This recall involves the "BBQ Instantanné" portable barbecue that is sold as a one-time use cooking appliance. The product has a grill and a large metal pan containing charcoal, supported by legs above the surface on which it sits, and can be identified by UPC #059261206508.
Hazard identified
Health Canada has established that the portable barbecues do not meet the warning label requirements outlined by the Charcoal Regulations.
The missing warning label may result in improper use, causing bodily harm such as headaches, nausea, fatigue, and potentially death from carbon monoxide poisoning if used in a confined, unventilated area.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incident or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this product.

Approximately 1,000 of the recalled portable BBQs were distributed in Quebec.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from March 2008 to January 2009 at various retail stores in Quebec.
