Product description
This recall involves all Basis Peak watches. The watch is an automatic fitness and sleep tracking device that is worn on the wrist.
Hazard identified
The watch can overheat, posing a burn hazard to the consumer.
Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of this product in Canada. Basis Science, Inc., and Intel Corporation have received four reports of the watch overheating in Canada.
Basis Science, Inc., and Intel Corporation have received a total of 30 reports of the watch overheating worldwide that resulted in burns, blisters, or other skin injuries.
Number sold
Approximately 3,400 units were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled watches were sold from November 2014 to June 2016 at Best Buy Canada.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

Consumers should immediately stop using the watch and charging cradle and contact Basis Science, Inc., for a full refund.
