Product description
This recall involves the 405 gram packages of Bake At Home® D'Italiano Garlic Rolls identified by UPC 5932790046.
The product is comprised of nine partially baked rolls topped with garlic spread and frozen in an "oven-ready" tray which the consumer bakes at home.
Product with date codes 199M through to 241M are affected by this recall. The date code can be found on the top right side of the front of the package.
Hazard identified
There is a possibility that the oven-ready plastic food tray provided in the package can melt when the product is baked in the oven at temperatures greater than 400°F. The melted plastic may drip in the oven which presents a fire hazard.
Ready-Bake Foods Inc. has received eleven reports from consumers of trays melting in which two have resulted in oven fires. No injuries were reported.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injury to Canadians related to the use of these trays.
Number sold
Approximately 12,000 of the recalled frozen food products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from August 2011 to November 2011.
