Avanti Ultra AV-Dextra Flat Iron
Product description
This recall involves Avanti Ultra AV-Dextra 2.5 centimetre (1-inch) flat irons that are green in colour with nano-titanium black plates. There is a black rating label on the product, in addition to a date code of 04/10.
Hazard identified
It has been determined that the identified product has not been evaluated by TUV Rheinland of North America to ensure it meets the required safety standards for Canada. As a result this product has not been authorized to bear the TUV Rheinland certification mark that is affixed to it. This product may pose electrical safety hazards
Neither Dannyco nor Health Canada has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these flat irons.
Number sold
Approximately 4,000 units of the affected flat irons were sold across Canada.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold from February 2010 to December 2010.
Place of origin
Manufactured in South Korea.

What you should do
Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately. Products should be returned to place of purchase for exchange with a certified AV-DEXTRA flat iron; or shipped to Dannyco for a replacement with a certified AV-DEXTRA flat iron to:
