Product description

This recall involves a soft plastic yo-yo ball toy in various colours with a stretchable plastic cord that has a finger loop at its end. The yo-yo ball is water-filled and may contain small plastic insects and other creatures. It was sold in vending machines, and it was packaged in a plastic capsule. The recalled yo-yo ball toy weighs approximately 40 g.

Hazard identified

Yo-yo type balls and similar products are banned in Canada because they present an unacceptable risk of strangulation to children. For more information on the hazard, visit Health Canada's Yo-yo Type Balls Notice.

Health Canada had not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these yo-yo ball toys.

Number sold

Approximately 900 of the recalled yo-yo ball toys were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled yo-yo ball toys were sold in October 2008 in central and western Canada through vending machines at large retail chains, various movie theatres and shopping malls.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.
