21 piece multicolour plastic vehicle magnetic block set; packaging indicates for ages over 18 months; item # 020511; UPC # 086892205112.
Hazard identified
Testing by Health Canada on the 15 piece vehicle magnetic block set revealed that pieces of the plastic blocks can break off into small, sharp pieces, posing choking and laceration hazards to young children.
Playwell Enterprises is extending the recall to include their 21 piece vehicle magnetic set, as it may present the same hazards.
Health Canada had not received reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these toys.
Number sold
An unknown number of the toys were sold in Canada prior to August 2006.
3,371 of the 15 piece vehicle magnetic set were sold in Canada between August 2006 and August 2008. An unknown number of the 21 piece vehicle magnetic set were sold during this same period.
Time period sold
The toys were sold from December 1994 to August 2008 at various toy, educational and variety stores nationwide.
