Product description

The recalled baby rattle is approximately 13 cm long and made of clear plastic with blue end pieces.

The two clear handles feature colourful beads inside and brightly coloured rings on the outside.

A blue face spins on a purple post inside the rattle when it is turned.

Hazard identified

A piece of the blue plastic on the ends of the rattle may break, resulting in a small part which may pose a choking hazard to young children.

Manhattan Group has received two reports of the blue plastic breaking.

Health Canada has received one report of a small piece breaking off the toy which resulted in a near-miss choking incident.

Number sold

536 rattles were sold in Canada by mail order, internet, and at specialty and gift stores.

Time period sold

From August 2007 through April 2008.

What you should do

Consumers should take the toys away from young children immediately.

Return them to the store where purchased for a refund or exchange for another toy.
