Product description
In Canada, the following Simplicity 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 convertible bassinet models were affected by this recall. This recall does not include bassinets produced after April 1st, 2008 that have fabric permanently attached over the lower bar. The model number can be found on a label on the underside of the bassinet.

Hazard identified
The Simplicity 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 convertible bassinets contain metal bars that are covered by an adjustable fabric flap which is attached by velcro. The fabric is folded down when the bassinet is converted into a bed-side co-sleeping position. If the velcro is not properly re-secured when the flap is adjusted, an infant can slip through the opening and become entrapped between the metal bars and suffocate.
This recall does not include bassinets produced in recent months that have fabric permanently attached over the lower bar.
Health Canada has received one complaint of an infant slipping through the opening. No injuries have been reported.

Approximately 46,830 of the recalled bassinets were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The time period the recalled bassinets were sold from April 2002 to August 2008.
