Product description
This recall involves swimming pool and spa chemicals from Rona used to adjust pH level and reduce excess of alkalinity. The affected products are listed below:
- pH- 2 kg (UPC #402009000072)
- pH+ 2 kg (UPC 402009000065)
- pH+ 500 g for spas (UPC 402009004513)
Hazard identified
Health Canada has established that these swimming pool and spa chemicals are not packaged in a child-resistant container as required under Canadian law.
The lack of a child-resistant container could lead to serious injury.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these swimming pool chemicals.
Number sold
Approximately 21,831 of the recalled products were sold primarily at RONA retail stores.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from September 2007 to September 2008.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Canada.
