Roman Blinds by Vadain International

Product description

This recall involves roman blinds by Vadain International. The blinds are made of either 100% cotton, 100% polyester, or a polyester-cotton blend, and come in various colours. The blinds are available in dimensions of 27" x 68", 30" x 68", 36" x 68", and 48" x 68".

Hazard identified

The loop of the inner cord on the backside of the roman blinds is too big, posing a risk of strangulation if a child places their neck in an exposed inner cord loop.

Neither Vadain International nor Health Canada has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these roman blinds.

Number sold

Approximately 1,795 units of the recalled roman blinds were sold exclusively at Home Depot stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from July 2009 to October 2009.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the roman blinds and contact Vadain International Inc. to receive a package of cord stoppers with written instructions for correcting the hazard.

Alternatively, consumers may return the recalled blinds to their nearest Home Depot store to receive a free replacement blind with the cord stoppers already installed, or in Home Depot stores where Vadain Blinds are not sold, to receive a replacement blind by mail.
