Refillable Utility Lighter by HRS-Global
Product description
This recall involves refillable utility lighters with black or red handles, by HRS-Global. The recalled lighters can be identified by the code "GL-51836", which is printed on the product packaging in the top left corner. The lighters also have lot number 00YY10040900 printed on the warning label and the back of the packaging, beside the barcode.
This recall does not include any other lot numbers of GL-51836 lighters.
Hazard identified
Testing by Health Canada of these utility lighters has revealed that they pose a burn risk to users because the lighter continues to burn even after the trigger mechanism has been released.
Also, the child-resistant mechanism on these lighters may not function properly.
Neither HRS-Global nor Health Canada has received reports of incidents or injuries as related to the use of these lighters.

Approximately 113,950 units of the recalled lighters were sold across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled lighters were sold between July 2009 and October 2009.
