Product description
This recall involves the SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter by Vantec. The recalled adapter is used to connect SATA, 3.5" IDE, 5.25"vIDE, and 2.5" IDE drives to your computer via a USB 2.0 port, and comes with a power supply.
The recalled adapter can be identified by model number VPN CB-ISATAU2.
Hazard identified
The recalled product is not certified to Canadian standards and has not been evaluated for safety hazards.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these adapters.
Number sold
Approximately 474 of the recalled products were sold by NCIX Netlink Computer Inc. in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled adapters were sold from February 2009 to September 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

Consumer should immediately stop using the recalled adapters. Consumers may return the product for either a full refund or a replacement power supply.
Consumers may return the product via UPS collect to the following address. If opting for a replacement power supply only, consumers should return only the power supply by mail.
