Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Beds
Product description
This recall involves only the Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Bed, item # 213792 in Canada.
The preassembled toy chest is designed in the shape of a ship or boat's "bow" and attached to the bed as a footboard.
The Pirates Boat Bed toy chest has a hardwood top, wheel shape and brown wood base with decorative carvings.
Hazard identified
The lid supports on the toy chests fail to prevent the lid from closing too quickly, posing an entrapment and strangulation hazard to young children.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission received one report of a death involving a 22-month-old boy of Roseville, California. He strangled when the lid of the toy chest fell on the back of his head and entrapped his neck on the edge of the chest of one of the Boat Beds.
No incidents or injuries have been reported to Health Canada.
