Product description

The jacket was sold in two colours, black and blue, in multiple children's sizes. The style number 507907 is printed on a white label sewn into the side seam of the jacket.

Hazard identified

The untacked waist drawstring on the jacket is longer than three inches when the drawstring is expanded to its fullest width. The toggle on the improperly secured drawstring has the potential to become snagged or caught in small spaces or doorways, which can pose a risk to children.

Health Canada has received no reports of injuries to date.

Number sold

Approximately 1,800 units sold in Canada and 17,200 units sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The jacket was sold in Canada exclusively at Old Navy stores between August 2007 and November 2007 for approximately $29.50.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Indonesia.

What you should do

Children should stop wearing this jacket immediately.

Customers in Canada should return the jacket to any Old Navy store for a full refund on the purchase price paid and a $5 appreciation card between now and March 31, 2008. Customers may also choose to keep the jacket and correct the safety risk by cutting the drawstring and removing the toggle.
