Product description

This recall involves Monday the Bullfrog plush toys with attached board books, which are sold in clear plastic boxes. The toy is a puppet in the shape of a bullfrog and the book is contained in its mouth. The book that comes with the recalled bullfrog can be identified by ISBN 1416912312 (10 digits) and ISBN 9781416912316 (13 digits).

Hazard identified

The plastic eyes on the bullfrog can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

In the United States, Simon & Schuster (US) has received 3 reports of the plastic eyes detaching and 1 toy that was packaged with a detached eye, with no reported injuries.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these toys.

Number sold

Approximately 1,200 units of Monday the Bullfrog were sold at bookstores, discount department stores, and other retailers across Canada.

The recalled products were sold from January 2006 to November 2009.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately take the recalled toy away from children and contact Simon & Schuster for information on how to receive a free replacement product.

The white cloth mouse tail from the book and the copyright tag on the product should be cut off and kept before disposing of the rest of the bullfrog toy in regular household garbage.
