Metal Flashing Necklace

Product description

This recall involves silver coloured metal pendants with an embedded flashing light. The pendants are in various shapes including a face, a dragon, an elephant and a crocodile; UPC # 773392008632. The product comes with 2 batteries.

Hazard identified

Testing by Health Canada revealed that the pendants contain very high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects. Anyone swallowing one of the pendants is at high risk of severe, or even fatal lead poisoning.

Health Canada has not received reports of illness or incidents related to the use of this flashing necklace.

Number sold

Approximately 36,440 of the recalled flashing necklaces were sold at various retail stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled flashing necklaces were sold from January 2003 to October 2008.
