Maxim Apogee and Maxim Pinnacle Dynamic Climbing Ropes
Product description
Two types of climbing ropes have been included in this recall, the Maxim Apogee 9.1 mm and Maxim Pinnacle 9.5 mm.
The Maxim Apogee 9.1 mm is a 48-carrier climbing rope. The colours are yellow/black and red/yellow. The model numbers are 3411-91 and 3415-91, with lot numbers 060801 through 080601.
The Maxim Pinnacle 9.5 mm is a blue 48-carrier climbing rope. The Model number is 3403-95, with lot numbers 070201 through 080601.
The lot numbers are on the original packaging as well as on the climbing rope itself.
Hazard identified
The climbing ropes can break, posing a serious fall hazard for climbers.
Health Canada has not received reports of injuries or incidents to Canadians related to the use of these climbing ropes.
Number sold
Approximately 71 of the dynamic climbing ropes were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The Maxim Apogee 9.1 mm climbing rope was sold from August 2006 through May 2008; and the Maxim Pinnacle 9.5 mm climbing rope was sold from February 2007 through May 2008.
The dynamic climbing ropes were sold at the following establishments:

- Atmosphere Sports – Plein Air of Montréal, Québec
- Climb on Equipment of Gerabaldi Heights, British Columbia
- Momo Sports of Sherbrooke, Québec
