Product description
The red version of the Lock and Leash™ Lock. Item number 1551D.
This recall applies only to the red version of this lock. Other colours of the 1551D lock (blue, purple and black) are not affected by this recall.
Hazard identified
The red surface paint on the lock contains lead in excess of the U.S. federal standards.
Please note that this is an unregulated product in Canada and this notice is posted for information purposes only. The firm, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, is conducting a voluntary recall of this consumer product.
No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Number sold
Exact number sold in Canada is not known at this time. A minimum of 417 of the recalled locks were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled locks were sold between March 2007 and January 2008 through various retailers nationwide.
