Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and testing program revealed that the flammability of the marabou feather boas exceeds the allowable limit for textile products.
The boas could easily catch fire and cause serious burns to consumers if exposed to a flame or other heat source such as a candle, cigarette lighter or electric heater.
No incidents of injury have been reported to Health Canada.
Number sold
Over 37, 000 feather boas have been sold to Canadian consumers.
Time period sold
The feather boas have been a standard selling item at Ardene stores nationwide.
