Klorane soothing eye make-up remover with cornflower extract is a blue lotion that is sold in 100 ml and 200 ml clear blue bottles.

The recalled products are identified by UPC codes 673914242516 and 673914242523.

This recall covers all products with the lot number F1192 and below. Please note that lots F080, F1200 and F1203 have been reformulated and are not included in this recall.

Hazard identified

The recalled Klorane soothing eye make-up remover may cause adverse reactions to the skin after application due to an ingredient impurity.

Four cases of contact dermatitis, two of which were associated with conjunctivitis have been reported in France. Additionally, minor cases of adverse reactions similar to those reported in France have been reported to Pierre Fabre Dermo-Cosmétique Canada. The formulation has recently been changed to resolve the problem.

Health Canada has not received reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this make-up remover.

Number sold

Approximately 314,000 of the recalled Klorane products were sold at various pharmacies and drug stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from January 2005 to December 2008.
