Product description
The recalled product involves the Kenmore® Cool Touch 2-slice and 4-slice toasters.

The item number, model number and date code are located on the underside of the toaster. Only the date code 7084 is affected by this recall.
Hazard identified
The toasters are being recalled due to a potential safety hazard which may cause the units to overheat, posing a possible fire hazard.
The importer, Sears Canada Inc., has received a few reported incidents with no injuries.
Health Canada has not received reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these toasters.
Number sold
Approximately 10,192 of the recalled toasters were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold between 2007 and October 2008 at Sears Canada retail stores as well as through the Sears Canada catalogue and on-line.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled toasters.
Consumers who own an affected Kenmore® Cool Touch Toaster to return it to their nearest Sears location for a full refund if accompanied by a receipt of sale, or for the lowest selling price without a receipt.
