Product description
This recall involves Infinita stainless steel kettles with model number EK814L and a date code beginning with "07". The model number and a 4-digit date code can be found on a label on the bottom of the kettle.
Hazard identified
The kettle can overheat and melt the base, posing a fire hazard.
The Electrical Safety Authority has reported 3 incidents of fires, two of which allegedly had property damage.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents related to the use of these kettles.
Number sold
Approximately 2,050 of the recalled kettles were sold at Home Hardware stores in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were distributed from 2007 to March 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
