Glow star necklaces
Product description
The necklace consists of a clear plastic star with a quick release clasp. The necklace contains a light with a small battery in the clasp.
Hazard identified
Solder in the battery compartment of the necklace clasp contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause serious adverse health effects.
Health Canada has not received reports of illness to Canadians related to the use of these recalled necklaces.
For more information on the risks and symptoms of lead exposure, visit Health Canada's It's Your Health: Effects of Lead on Human Health.
There is no lead exposure risk associated with wearing the necklaces, as only the soldering on the components within the sealed battery compartment contain lead. There is a risk of lead exposure only if the components of the battery compartment of the necklace are chewed, sucked or ingested.
