Hazard identified
Strangulations can occur when a child places his/her neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the backside of the blind or when a child pulls the cord out and wraps it around his/her neck.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these roman shades. However, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has reported that a 2-year-old boy became entangled in the inner cords of the Roman shade, leaving a temporary red mark around his neck with no permanent injuries.
