Extreme Roof Bracket
Product description
The recalled product is sold in individual units or cases of 8 with the following UPC code: 6-27308-97238-1.
It is an adjustable roof bracket used on sloped roofs. The brackets hold up to a 0.6 m x 3 m (2 ft x 10 ft) board which is used as a working platform on the roof.
Hazard identified
The recalled product can pose a fall hazard as some brackets were manufactured without tack welds on the pins that hold the adjustable mechanism in place. Only those brackets without the tack welds are included in this recall.
Tests by the manufacturer have found that there is a risk that the mechanism can fail when being used on steep pitches when considerable weight is being supported by the bracket.
Health Canada has not received reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this product.
Number sold
Approximately 3,247 of the recalled products were sold in Canada.
