Product description

Only products with the following item numbers printed on the back of the packaging are included in the recall:

  • Item # 50083 - Disney Makit & Bakit Charm Bracelet (Fairies)
  • Item # 50694 - Disney Makit & Bakit Charm Bracelet (Princess)

Each of these kits contains a metal bracelet with a clasp closure.

Hazard identified

The clasps on some of the jewellery contain high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

Health Canada has not received reports of illness or injury to Canadians related to the use of these recalled Children's Jewellery Sets.

Number sold

Approximately 234 units of the Disney Fairies Jewellery set, and 161 units of the Disney Princess Jewellery set were sold to consumers at Michaels' retail stores nationwide.

Time period sold

The recalled product was sold from July 2007 through April 2008.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products.
