Product description
FGX International Inc. is recalling certain styles of its 2007 collection of children's sunglasses.
The product styles of the affected children's sunglasses are as follows:
- Bond
- Boom
- Bubble Gum
- Bullseye
- Conqueror Jr
- Curly Q
- Outer Space
- Pluto
Hazard identified
The surface paint on the children's sunglasses may contain excessive levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Neither the firm nor Health Canada have received reports of illness or injury to Canadians related to the use of these sunglasses.

Number sold
Approximately 11,000 units of the affected styles of sunglasses were sold at stores nationwide including: Pharma, W.C. Smith and Walmart.
Time period sold
Sold between December 2006 and November 2007.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately take these sunglasses away from children.
Consumers may return the sunglasses to FGX International for a free replacement or refund, including shipping and handling. Consumers may contact the firm's Product Recall Hotline at 1-877-277-0104 or their FGX International web site or their Foster Grant web site to arrange for a suitable replacement or refund. Customers requiring service in French may contact the firm at 1-800-656-8237 ext 25.
