Product description
The recalled cosmetic accessory bags are made of plastic and have a zipper and carrying handle. The model name and UPC numbers are located on the hangtag.
The cosmetic accessory bags contain Smackers® and BonneBell® Style Gift Collection marketed to children and young adults. The cosmetic products contained within the bags do not pose any health risks.

Hazard identified
Testing by Health Canada and The Bonne Bell Company revealed that some of the metal clasps on the handles of the bags contain lead in excess of a safe limit. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Health Canada has received one complaint, but no reports of illness related to the use of this bag.
Number sold
Approximately 55,000 units were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The products were sold between September 2007 through August 2008 at Bonne Bell stores and various department stores nationwide.
Place of origin
The cosmetic products were made in the U.S.A., whereas the affected bags were made in China.
