Product description
Best-life Fat Burning Capsules are promoted for weight loss.
Reason for warning
The Agence française de sécurité sanitaire des produits de santé (AFSSAPS) warned consumers not to use Best-life Fat Burning Capsules after they were found to contain sibutramine and phenolphthalein. The AFSSAPS began their investigation following the death of a 32-year-old woman who had been using the product.
- Sibutramine is a prescription drug used to treat obesity. It should only be taken under the supervision of a health care practitioner.
- Phenolphthalein was previously used as a laxative but is no longer authorized for sale in Canada because it may cause cancer.
Possible side effects
- Side effects associated with sibutramine include increased blood pressure and heart rate, dry mouth, difficulty sleeping and constipation.
- Side effects associated with phenolphthalein, in addition to cancer, include decreased blood pressure, skin rash and gastrointestinal bleeding.
