BABYBJÖRN® Feeding Spoon
Product description
The recalled feeding spoons are sold under the brand name BABYBJÖRN and are made of PVC-free materials. These spoons are 6.5 in. long, have a soft, flexible plastic tip and come in one of two color combinations: Blue/ Red (model no. 077015US) or Green/Yellow (model no. 077062US). The name BABYBJÖRN appears along the front side of the spoon's handle.
Hazard identified
After extended use, the soft plastic tip on the feeding spoon may weaken and break off. This may pose a potential choking hazard.
The firm has received no reports of injuries as a result of children using the feeding spoon, and there have been no spoons reported returned in Canada. There have been 10 returns in Scandinavia and one return in Japan.
Number sold
About 3,000 units sold in Canada (each unit sold contains two spoons).
Time period sold
Sold at specialty juvenile product stores, and through catalogues and Web sites from 2001 through November 2006, for about US $8.95 per unit.
