Product description

Tempered automotive glass used as replacement back or rear window glass and side quarter glass of certain passenger vehicles.

The marking "DOT430" appears on the glass. This recall only applies to automotive glass with the markings "DOT430".

It does not apply to any other DOT numbers.

Hazard identified

The consequence of the non-compliance is that the glass products, if broken, may not break into the desired small pieces. The breakage of the glass products in larger pieces may present a safety risk to the occupants of the vehicle with the non-compliant glass.

Number sold

A total of approximately 1,115 glass parts were sold in Canada by Belron Canada Incorporated; of that total, the exact number of glass parts with the marking "DOT430" still in circulation is not known.

The Glass was sold in Canada through corporate locations, franchises, independent automotive glass shops and distributors, which include the following names: Apple Auto Glass, Duro Vitres d'autos, Lebeau Vitres d'autos, Speedy Glass and Vanfax.

What you should do

Consumer are advised to contact the automotive glass shop where they had the glass replaced.

The non-compliant glass parts will be removed and replaced at no charge to consumers if installed by Belron Canada Incorporated or its affiliates, Lebeau Vitres d'autos, Duro Vitres d'autos, Apple Auto Glass and Speedy Glass.
