Product description
This recall involves Alnico 7.6 cemtimeter (3-inch) long bar magnets. The magnets are painted red and blue, and were originally packaged as a pair or as a component of a science kit. The magnets were sold as item number MG-BAR3AL.
Hazard identified
The surface paint on the recalled magnets contains lead in excess of the allowable limit. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Health Canada has not received reports of illness or injury to Canadians related to the use of these magnets.

Approximately 9 pairs of the bar magnets were sold in Canada.
