Affected products

This recall involves the Safety Belt found on the ANTILOP highchair from supplier 17389 with the production date 0607-0911 (YYMM).

Issue

The high chair belt can open unexpectedly when in use, creating a fall hazard.

Ikea is aware of eight reports of belts opening, including three resulting in minor injury when a child fell from the high chair. Countries reporting incidents are the United States (5), Sweden (2) and Japan (1).

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these highchair belts.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled chair and contact an IKEA store for a refund or exchange.

Time Period Sold

The recalled products were sold from July 2006 to November 2009 in Canada and from August 2006 through January 2010 in the United States.
