Product description
This recall involves Seymour "RPM Hi Temp" and Allpro "Cover Shield Stain Killer" aerosol paint products. The recalled products can be identified by the following descriptions and item numbers:
- Seymour "RPM Hi Temp" product comes in an aerosol spray container with a fill weight of 340g (12oz.), and can be identified by item number 16-1023 and UPC 043281001748.
- Allpro "Cover Shield Stain Killer" product comes in an aerosol spray container with a fill weight of 340g (12oz.), and can be identified by item number XX-16-053 and UPC 016659110694.
Hazard identified
Health Canada's auditing process has revealed that the recalled products do not meet labelling requirements under Canadian law for consumer chemical products. The products were labelled for workplace (WHMIS) requirements and should have only been sold to industrial clients.
However, these products were sold to industrial and retail clients, without changing the labelling requirements for consumers. This lack of consumer labelling information, including appropriate warnings, may lead to serious injury or property damage.
Neither Health Canada nor Seymour of Sycamore Inc. has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 378 cans of the recalled Seymour "RPM Hi Temp" products and 870 cans of the recalled Allpro "Cover Shield Stain Killer" products were sold at various paint and decorating stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled Seymour "RPM Hi Temp" products were sold from November 2008 to June 2010. The recalled Allpro "Cover Shield Stain Killer" products were sold from May 2008 to June 2010.
Place of origin
