Product description

This recall involves AC Adaptors sold as part of the ThinkVision Soundbar option by Lenovo. The recalled adaptors can be identified by the FRU part number 89P8571 and the date code 200810, which can both be found on the back the adaptor.

The Lenovo ThinkVision USB Soundbar, which has a single USB connector, is not affected by this recall as it does not have an AC Adaptor.

Hazard identified

The plastic shell of the AC Adaptor can crack over time, posing a risk of electric shock to consumers.

Neither Lenovo nor Health Canada have received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these AC Adaptor.

Number sold

Approximately 74 of the recalled AC Adaptors were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled AC adaptors were sold from October 2008 to January 2009.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled AC Adaptors and contact Lenovo to receive a free replacement part.

When consumers contact technical support at Lenovo, they must mention the document number "SF09-D0028".
